A song split (or split sheet) is an agreement between each contributor to a given song. It solidifies ownership percentages amongst each member of the collaborative group that had a hand in creating a song. That could be songwriters, publishers, band members or even producers. The percentages you agree to with your collaborators determine how much each person will receive from future royalty payouts.
